and performances in every medium (e.g., short stories, novels, plays, film and
video productions, poems, and essays) from a wide variety of authors, subjects,
and genres
• Compare a film, video, or stage version of a literary work with the written
version

critical analysis and evaluation.
• Recognize how language and illustrations are used to persuade in
printed and filmed advertisements, with assistance
• Evaluate the content by identifying:
- recurring themes across works in print and media

and communicate information for learning, decision-making and
