On Sunday, Sept. 11, 8:30 p.m. ET/PT Nickelodeon will air a special edition of Nick News with Linda Ellerbee: Do Something! Caring for the Kids of Katrina, offering a glimpse of the affects of Hurricane Katrina, how this natural disaster happened, and how kids can help those affected.   It will also air on Nickelodeon's Cable in the Classroom programming on Monday, Sept. 12, 6 a.m.; Wednesday, Sept. 14, 6 a.m.; and Friday, Sept. 23, 6 a.m.

The Federal Communications Commission will hold an Open Meeting on Thursday, September 15, 2005, 9:30 a.m. The Meeting will focus on presentations regarding the effects of Hurricane Katrina on communications services in the Gulf Coast states. Audio/Video coverage of the meeting will be broadcast live over the Internet from the FCC's Audio/Video Events web page at www.fcc.gov/realaudio

The program's title, HIGHER GROUND HURRICANE RELIEF BENEFIT CONCERT reflects an aspiration for all those affected by the hurricane and its aftermath. It will originate live from the Rose Theater in Frederick P. Rose Hall. Proceeds from the concert and auction of items including a Gibson guitar autographed by Eric Clapton will be donated to relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina. The updated talent lineup now includes: Wynton Marsalis, Terence Blanchard, Ken Burns, Cyrus Chestnut, Peter Cincotti, Elvis Costello, Bill Cosby, Robert De Niro, Paquito D’Rivera, Jon Henddricks, Diana Krall, Abbey Lincoln, Bette Midler, Dianne Reeves, Marcus Roberts, Paul Simon, Meryl Streep, James Taylor, McCoy Tyner, Cassandra Wilson, Buckwheat Zydeco and other artists, to be announced.
